HIM & HER — Together (on the Same Page)

[Bible]

Threefold Marital Cord

“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

How strong is your marriage?  Do you identify as a “Christian” couple?  Well, you should know that the most successful marriages integrate “one husband”, “one wife”, and “their Creator”.  This “threefold cord” can be strong enough to resist anything and anyone who may come against it.

[Couple]

A seasoned marriage is one where both the husband and the wife proactively engage in both “giving” and “receiving”.  Each partner will often have one or more strengths which complements the other partner’s weakness.

The goal for every marriage should include “sharing” everything.  The two love birds have decided to integrate both of their individual lives in to one comprehensive marital life, consisting of “him and her” together for life.

Our Creator designed human beings with multiple components.  You may already be aware that we are comprised of spirit, soul, body, and flesh.  A “Christian” marriage will utilize all four components for both the husband and the wife.

[Creator]

In our time of prayer and worship, the couple will exercise the “spirit” given to both him “and” her.  This identifies a “location” where our Creator can come and visit with His children.

Perhaps you may not have given it much thought, but a Christian marriage is designed so differently from just two people merely “getting hitched”.  The husband and the wife connect on a much stronger level when their spirits are both “committed to God”.

Let us never forget that “love” is the “binding” ingredient which holds it all together.  First, love for “our Creator”, the Giver of Life.  Second, love for “our spouse”, the partner chosen for life.  Third, love for “our self”, the recipient of our Heavenly Father’s best.

[Prepared]

Being “bound” for life is actually a very good thing.  Even better when God holds thetwo together for life.  Living each and every day for the betterment of your other half should bring a strong sense of satisfaction.

Hard times are bound to come.  Even “temptations” should be expected.  Never look for an easy path when every “Christian marriage” has an enemy.  The same devil who hates everyone who “follows” our Lord Jesus.

Probably the best part of being a “husband” and “wife” team is the reality of being able to enjoy “this” life now, while also preparing for the “next” yet to come.  Our time on Earth is expected to be difficult, but remember your “reward” is reserved in Heaven.

From one who forever remains…

“Under the Shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1),
